When I was 155lbs I was not confident with myself. I wouldn’t dare wear a two piece or even a one piece bathing suit. I felt my stomach wasn’t flat enough! Can you believe that! I wasn’t worried about the memories that I was about to make I was worried about my stomach not being FLAT ENOUGH! Or that I have cellulite or roll. That just makes me so upset ! It shouldn’t be that way at all..yet it is. Many of us women and even men deal with this daily!
Those 4yrs that I was struggling with my weight it really opened my eyes. It showed me how much I should have appreciated my body. How I should have wore what I wanted to wear because regardless my body was beautiful! It didn’t have to meet the standards of everyone else. When I was 265lbs I refused to go outside and hang out with friends because I hated how uncomfortable I was in all of my clothes. It really took a toll on me mentally but I was able to hide it pretty well.
Now that I’ve lost these 70lbs I feel amazing and I REFUSE to allow myself to ever feel that way ever again! I will wear what I want to wear! I will feel good in it and I will allow myself to live in the moment!
If you want to wear that bathing suit wear that bathing suit! Rolls and all!! LOVE YOURSELF! Appreciate your body!
I’m proud of how far I’ve come! You have choices in life to be confident and love yourself or too hide yourself and not be in the moment because your allowing your weight to take over. I CHOOSE CONFIDENCE! The opinions of others don’t matter!
Trust me, I know it can be hard, I know it’s easier said then done. Just remember if your kind to yourself and speak highly of yourself. You will slowly gain that confidence. If you buy that dress or those shorts.. put them on. If it makes YOU feel happy… then WEAR THEM! At the end of the day it’s your body, your life and your happiness. THATS WHAT MATTERS RIGHT?

Have you ever struggled with your weight ? I sure have !
Since I was about 10 yrs old I’ve struggled with my weight. It was always like a giant roller coaster! One minute I’m over weight the next I’m at the perfect weight. It’s always been so frustrating! Especially with society today consistently pushing the fact that being mid size or plus size is not okay. Well guess what! IT IS and I’ve finally realized that for myself within this past year !
Weightgain
Before I had my son I was 155-160lbs. After I had my son I was starting to bounce back until I started having issues with my insulin and I went up to 265lbs ! Yes 265! At 5’4.. that’s heavy for ME. Nothing worked ! I know we have all been there trying every diet, every hack, every supplement that you can think of ! But nothing seemed to work or it was very short lived and super pricey. Not worth it! I struggled with this weight and couldn’t stop gaining for about 4yrs. I went to multiple doctors and no one wanted to help me. For some reason when your plus size or over weight no one seems to believe that your actually trying to lose weight even though nothing was working. I FINALLY found an amazing doctor who helped me right away because he truly cared. Turns out I had to get VSG surgery (gastric sleeve). My doctor told me sometimes with pregnancy things like this can happen, your body changes and you can’t control it. I was a little nervous & disappointed because although he said that, I felt this was my fault. Why did I get to this point ? Now I have to lose 80% of my stomach in order to be healthy? I wasn’t really nice to myself at that moment. I made sure to snap myself out of that moment and start getting prepared and educate myself on this surgery and nutrition so that I can make this lifestyle change.
WEIGHTLOSS
July 9, 2020 FINALLY! Surgery day! After 1 yr in total of waiting, the day finally came where I was having my surgery. I’m currently one year post op! The picture to the right in the white bodysuit… that’s me now! Down 70lbs one year post op! I feel amazing! I still have some weight to lose and some body goals to hit but that all happens slowly! That’s one thing I’ve learned on this weight-loss journey is that you have to have patience with yourself. Your body moves at its own pace and that’s OKAY! Don’t rush! During this past year I’ve learned so much about myself, my health, my body etc. I’ve learned to love my body so much more! To appreciate the body God gave me! I learned how important it is to watch what you put in your body and how important it is to truly take care of you! Am I still dealing with Body Dysmorphia? Yes but I’ve learned to cut those thoughts off immediately and PRAY! I also look back at before and after pictures of myself and shake it off! Like girl STOP! You have been doing amazing ! Don’t you dare! Haha. Also, let’s not forget losing weight slow and steady is GREAT! Everyone loses at a different pace.
This is a lifestyle change it’s not a temporary fix. So do I have a cookie here and there OFCOURSE! It’s all about self control and portion control. I’ve fell in love with with this lifestyle and this journey. I realized one of the many things that I want to do is to study nutrition ! Not just for myself but for those around me ! This journey is such a blessing and I’m beyond grateful for it !
